CEO’s Blog – End of Year

We have had an incredible year so far and I thought it would be good to share some of the major milestones from last November, when we first formed the Rose Learning trust.

Turning first to our achievements over our first months, I am very happy to report that there is much to celebrate. We achieved a record turn-around time for the conversion of our third Academy school, Balby Central Primary, taking just 8 weeks to complete. Since welcoming Balby to the Rose family, I am delighted to confirm that we now hope to  reach our target of 5 schools by the end of 2017. We are pleased to have the go-ahead to proceed with due diligence on a further two schools, Crowle Primary and Hatchell Wood Primary.

Our research portfolio is active, with Rose schools already working on a project funded by Leeds Carnegie. This is an exciting development and we hope that this will mark the beginning in this part of our development. We are also registering our brand with other research organisations and I am confident that our portfolio will flourish. Our bid for development funding to the Regional Schools Commissioner was also approved, drawing in additional funding of £50,000.

The strength of the Rose team has been further enhanced by the appointment of an additional Trustee on the Board – Peter Haynes.  Peter is a qualified accountant, specialising in public sector finance. He is also the Chief Finance Officer for another Multi Academy Trust in our area.

I would like to sign off by saying thank you to all of our staff, Governors, Trustees, Members, pupils and parents for your ongoing contributions to the Rose team effort. I know we all have busy schedules, but thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter and find out a little more about our Trust.
